Student DevOps Engineer
Monta is looking for dynamic professionals, trailblazers who will be part of accelerating our reach in the SaaS realm and EV charging industry.
We usually respond within two weeks
💰Salary: 160-190 DKK/hour 20-25 hours a week
About Monta
Monta powers the EV charging ecosystem. With 300,000+ monthly users and millions of charge sessions every month, our platform accelerates the electrification of mobility.
This is a fast-moving place. The problems are hard, the pace is quick, and the bar is high. If you like real ownership, figuring things out, and seeing the direct impact of your work, you'll do well with us.
AI is built into how we work. It helps us ship faster, make better decisions, and stay lean. Everyone at Monta is expected to use AI tools thoughtfully — and to find smart ways to use them to move the work forward.
Our principles keep us grounded: Build Together & Finish, Sweat the Details, Customer First, and Aim for the Moon.
The best part of Monta is the people — sharp, ambitious, and good to be around. You'll be challenged, supported, and trusted to deliver.
We're looking for a Student DevOps Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering team who's ready to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, and build with us.
This Is What You Will Achieve
Impact — your work will help power hundreds of thousands of chargers and accelerate sustainable transportation across Europe.
Real-world experience — work in a fast-paced scale-up where the learning opportunities are endless, on the same infrastructure that runs Monta in production.
Join a student community — become part of a group of student assistants at Monta with tailored onboarding and peer support.
What You’ll Do
Learn Monta's infrastructure stack (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, GitOps) and use it to automate manual processes and reduce toil for engineering teams.
Help improve reliability and performance through monitoring and observability (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Mimir).
Support safe, fast deployments alongside our engineers using GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Terraform).
Propose and drive your own project ideas that create measurable value for the SRE team and the wider engineering org.
What We’re Looking For
You're currently studying a bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field — with at least a year left.
Some hands-on experience with Git, scripting, and the command line. Exposure to cloud (AWS), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), or CI/CD is a plus.
You're a builder — you like to iterate fast, automate repetitive work, and follow through to make sure what you ship actually gets used.
Comfortable with AI-powered tools such as Claude Code to accelerate your work, with the willingness to learn more.
You're curious, hands-on, and thrive in environments where you get to figure things out.
We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. Research shows that men tend to apply when they meet ~60% of the requirements, while women and members of underrepresented groups often apply only when they meet them all.
If this role excites you but you don't tick every single box, please still reach out. We care about potential, not perfection.
Technical Landscape
You'll get to work with (and learn):
Core Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, GitOps, Helm, Crossplane
Observability: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Mimir, Tempo
CI/CD & Delivery: GitHub Actions, Cloudflare
AI & Automation Tools: Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Notion AI
Why Monta
Impact, not easy mode — your work matters, and you'll feel it every day.
Ownership from day one — we don't micromanage, we expect you to deliver.
The people are extraordinary — talented, driven, and fun to work with. You'll be challenged, supported, and inspired in equal measure.
What Our Colleagues Say
“Coming from a Computer Science background, I think this is the coolest job. I get to work across the entire technology stack, and every day brings a new challenge.
One day I'm using Wireshark to figure out why a charge point can't complete a TLS handshake. The next, I'm writing Go and TypeScript for our internal tools, building Grafana dashboards, or moving alerting infrastructure into Terraform. Other days I'm optimising databases, improving the developer experience, or digging into FinOps initiatives.
The variety means I'm constantly learning and solving different kinds of problems, whether that's software development, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, or operations. It keeps the work interesting and never feels repetitive.
And as a bonus, the colleagues are awesome and the canteen is excellent; I just had butter chicken today.”
